Samuel S. Tenenbaum was raised in the city of

and Santa Clara School of Law. In 1971, he started practicing law as a deputy prosecutor in the Merced County District Attorney's Office. After several years of trying criminal cases at jury trial, he moved into private practice specializing in criminal law and family law.
